NATIONAL INSURANCE COMMISSION ACT
Section 50: Power of entry and search.
(1) For the purpose of this Act, an inspector or such other person appointed in writing by the Commission to exercise powers under this Act may, at all reasonable times and on production of that authority-
(a) enter and search any building or place in which he has reason to believe there are any books of account, documents or other papers relating to any insurance institution under this Act; and
(b) inspect or take any such book of account, documents or other papers.
(2) Any person who without reasonable excuse obstructs or hinders a person in pursuance of an authority under subsection (1) of this section is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine of N250,000.
