NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME ACT
Section 1: Establishment of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
(1) There is hereby established a scheme to be known as the National Health Insurance Scheme (in this Act referred to as "the Scheme") for the purpose of providing health insurance which shall entitle insured persons and their dependants the benefit of prescribed good quality and cost-effective health services as set out in this Act.
(2) The Scheme-
(a) shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal; and
(b) may sue and be sued in its corporate name.
