Section 17: Escape or permitting escape.

Any person who(a) being in lawful custody, escapes; or
(b)
aids any person in lawful custody to escape,
shall be guilty of an offence under this Act and liable on conviction to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years.
