Section 1: Control of building or other structure used in connection with mines or quarries.#
(1)
As from the commencement of this Act, any building or other structure used only in or in conjunction with the extraction of minerals from a mine or quarry shall be deemed not to be a factory for the purposes of the Factories Act and such building or other structure shall be subject to the direction and control of the Chief Inspector of Mines; and the Factories Act shall have effect as hereby amended.

In this section, unless the context otherwise requires-
"mine" has the like meaning as is assigned thereto by section 259 of the Minerals and Mining Act;
[Cap. M12.]
"quarry" has the like meaning as in section 232 of the Minerals and Mining Act.
Section 2: Short title.#
This Act may be cited as the Mines and Quarries (Control of Buildings, etc.) Act.
