Section 262: Water and provision for passengers
(1)
The master of every near coastal trade ship and inland water ship shall issue to every passenger a sufficient quantity of water and wholesome provisions, unless the passenger had agreed to provide himself with such water or provisions.
(2)
If, the owner or charterer or the master of a ship referred to in subsection (1) of this section fails to provide the sufficient quantity of water and provisions, he commits an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine not less than one hundred thousand Naira.
