Section 15: Minister to make rules regarding name to ship
(1)
The Minister may make rules prescribing the circumstances in which, and the conditions subject to which the Agency's approval may be given to the registration of a ship in Nigeria by a proposed name and the rules may prescribe the form of notice to be given before the name of the ship is marked on the ship, or before the name of the ship is entered on the register, or, in the case of a change of name of a ship registered in Nigeria, before the name of the ship is altered in the register.
(2)
If in respect of any ship, default is made in compliance with any conditions subject to which the approval of the Agency is granted under any rules made or deemed to have been made pursuant to this section, the owner ofthe ship commits an offence and on conviction is liab1e to a fine not less than one hundred thousand Naira.
