Section 10: False evidence.

Any person who before a committee of a Legislative House knowingly gives a false answer to any question material to the subject of the inquiry of the committee which may be put to him during the course of his examination shall-(a) if the answer was given on oath, be deemed to be guilty of an offence against section 117 of the Criminal Code and shall be liable on conviction to the punishment therefor prescribed by that Code;
(b) if the answer was given otherwise than on oath, be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for twelve months.
