INVESTMENTS AND SECURITIES ACT
Section 312: Application and relevance of other laws not barred.
(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of this Act the relevant provisions of all existing enactments, including the following:
(a) the Trustees Investments Act;Cap T22,LFN 2004.
(b) the Borrowing by Public Bodies Act;Cap B10,LFN 2004.
(c) the Companies and Allied Matters Act; Cap C20 LFN 2004.
(d) the Insurance Act;Cap I17 LFN 2004.
(e) the Central Bank of Nigeria Act;Cap C4 LFN 2004
(f) the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund Act; Cap N88 LFN 2004
(g) the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act; Cap B3 LFN 2004
(h) the Nigerian Investment Promotion Act; Cap N117 LFN 2004
(i) the Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Act; Cap F34 LFN 2004
(j) the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers Act, shall be read with such modification as to bring them into conformity with the provisions of this Act in relation to capital market matter. Cap C9 LFN 2004
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1) of this section, the provisions of this Act shall be in addition to the application of other laws not barred and not in derogation of the provisions of any other law or enactment for the time being in force.
(3) Apart from the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, if the provisions of any other law, in relation to capital market matters including the enactments specified in subsection (1) of this section, are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, the provisions of this Act shall prevail and the provisions of that other law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void.
