INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION FOR THE PREVENTION OF POLLUTION FROM SHIPS, 1973 AND 1978 PROTOCOL (RATIFICATION AND ENFORCEMENT) ACT

Section 1: Enforcement of the Treaty on International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973 and 1978 Protocol.
As from the commencement of this Act, the Provisions of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships 1973 and the 1978 protocol set out in the First and Second Schedules to this Act, shall:(a) have the force of law in Nigeria;
(b) be given full recognition and effect; and
(c) be applied by all authorities and persons exercising legislative, executive and judicial powers.
Section 2: Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the, International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships 1973 and the 1978 Protocol (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, 2005.
