HARMFUL WASTE (SPECIAL CRIMINAL PROVISIONS, ETC.) ACT
Section 8: Attempt
(1)
Any person who attempts to commit any of the crimes under this Act shall be guilty of a crime and shall on conviction be sentenced to imprisonment for life.
(2) Where a person is charged with a crime under this Act and the evidence establishes an attempt to commit the crime he may be convicted of having attempted to commit that crime, although the attempt is not separately charged and such person shall be punished as provided under subsection (1) of this section.
(3)
When a person is charged with an attempt to commit a crime under this Act but the evidence establishes the commission of the full crime, the offender shall not be entitled to acquittal but shall be convicted of the crime and punished as provided under section 6 of this Act.
