Section 17: Damage or loss.

(1) The Inspector-General of Police and the officer in charge of a public armoury shall not be responsible for any deterioration or damage caused to any firearm or ammunition deposited in a public armoury, but, in the manner to be prescribed by regulations, shall permit the owner and any person authorised by the owner to have access if he so requires for the purpose of inspection, cleaning or maintenance of a firearm or of ammunition therefore.
(2) No compensation shall be made to the owner of any firearms or ammunition deposited in a public armoury by reason of any damage occasioned thereto by any natural or accidental cause.
