Section 18: Removal of examiner.

1 Where, on the recommendation of the Senate, it appears to the Vice-Chancellor that a person appointed as an examiner for any examination of the University ought to be removed from his office or appointment, then, except in such cases as may be prescribed, the Vice-Chancellor may, after affording the examiner an opportunity to make representations in person on the matter to the Vice-Chancellor, remove the examiner from the appointment by an instrument in writing signed by the Vice-Chancellor.

2 Subject to the provisions of regulations made under section 7(5) of this Act, the Vice-Chancellor may, on the recommendation of the Senate, appoint an appropriate person as examiner in the place of the examiner removed under subsection (1).

3 The Vice-Chancellor, on signing an instrument of removal under this section, shall cause a copy of the instrument to be served immediately on the person to whom it relates.
