Section 6: Functions of the Chancellor.

(1) The Chancellor shall, in relation to the University, take precedence before all other members of the University and when he is present shall preside at all meetings of Convocation held for conferring degree certificates and other awards of the University.
(2) Every proposal to confer an honorary degree shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor.
(3) The Chancellor shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on him by this Act.
