Section 19: Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary to the Commission
(1) The Executive Vice-Chairman shall be-
(a) the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission ;
(b) primarily responsible for the execution of the policies and decisions of the Board and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the activities of the Commission ; and
(c) a person possessing sound knowledge ofand ability in the organisation and management of competition and or consumer protection matters and shall hold office for a term of four years which may be renewed for another term and no more.
(2) The Executive Commissioners shall be persons possessing sound
knowledge of and ability in the organisation and management of regulatory
matters with respect to competitive and consumer protection matters and
shall hold office for a term of four years which may be renewed for another
term and no more.
(3) The Commission shall appoint a Secretary (in this Act refered to as the Secretary) who shall be a legal practitioner with at least 10 years post-call experience.
(4) The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping the corporate records
of the Commission and discharging such other duties as the Executive Vice- Chairman or the Commission may assign.
