Section 14: Vacancy of office of provost.

Where the post of the Provost is vacant, the Council shall-(a) advertises the vacancy in a reputable journal and widely read newspaper in Nigeria specifying-
(i) the qualities of a person who may apply for the position, and
(ii) the terms and conditions of service applicable to the post, and thereafter, draw up a short list of suitable candidates for consideration;
(b) a Joint Committee of the Council and the Academic Board consisting of-
(i) the Chairman of the Council,
(ii) two members of the Council not being members of the Academic Board and not below the rank of Chief Lecturer shall consider the candidates on the short list drawn up under paragraph (a) (ii) through an examination of their curriculum vitae and interaction with them and recommend to the Council qualified candidates for its consideration.
