Section 58: Presumption in favour of certificate issued by principal or employer.

(1) A certificate issued by a principal or an officer on behalf of his principal shall be admissible in evidence in any proceedings against any person for any offence under this Act as prima facie proof that the person named in such certificate-
(a) held the position, office or capacity specified in such certificate and for such period so specified; and
(b) received the emoluments specified in such certificate.
(2) A certificate issued under subsection (1) shall be prima facie proof that it was issued by the person purporting to issue it as principal or on behalf of the principal without proof of the signature of the person who issued such certificate and without proof of the authority of such person to issue it in the absence of any reasonable proof to the contrary.
