Section 3: Establishment of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons.

(1) There is established a National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, ("the National Centre") which shall be coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser.
(2) the Office of the National Security Adviser shall -
(a) coordinate and implement the provisions of this Act;
(b) be responsible for
(i) policy formulation, coordination and monitoring of efforts to address small arms and light weapons related issues within Nigeria,
(ii) monitoring of efforts to prevent, combat and eradicate the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons, and
(iii) providing regular briefings and reports to the Government on the progress and challenges of the implementation of the national policy and strategy on small arms and light weapons, with the aim of facilitating the necessary political will, understanding and support for activities and programmes dealing with small arms and light weapons
