Section 137: False claim, etc.

If any creditor, or any person claiming to be a creditor, in any bankruptcy proceedings, wilfully and with intent to defraud makes any false claim, or any proof, declaration or statement of account which is untrue in any material particular, he shall be guilty of an offence under this Act and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of N200 or imprisonment for one year or to both such fine or imprisonment.
