Section 408: Steps to be taken by the Registrar

The Registrar of the court by which the convict is sentenced to death shall, as soon as practicable after sentence has been pronounced:(a) hand two copies of the certificate issued by the Judge under the provisions of section 407 of this Act to the Commissioner of Police, one copy of which shall be retained by the Commissioner of Police and the other handed to the superintendent or other officer in charge of the prison in which the convict is to be confined;
(b) transmit to the sheriff one copy of the certificate; and
(c) file one copy of the certificate with the record of the proceedings in the case.
